UFC 104 RESULTS!!!

Lyoto Machida successfully defended his Light Heavyweight title in a very controversial unanimous decision victory against Mauricio Shogun Rua. It was very difficult to separate the two fighters over the course of the five rounds, but the crowd strongly voiced their disagreement with the decision as the result was announced. Despite this Lyoto acted like a true champion & said he would take a re-match with Shogun anytime, anywhere.

Cain Velasquez kept his undefeated record in tact as he defeated veteran heavyweight Ben Rothwell via TKO stoppage in the 2nd round. Even though the stoppage was a bit controversial, Cain dominated the action from the beginning as he controlled Rothwell with his superior grappling before unleashing a barrage of punches as Ben was trapped against the fence in the beginning of the 2nd.

Gleison Tibau earned a unanimous decision over Josh Neer after taking Neer down at will in their lighweight contest. Neer was left unable to stop Gleison from taking him down round after round as the Brazilian overwhelmed Josh with his strength. Despite being more aggressive on the bottom and getting up from the takedowns almost immediately, the judges felt that Tibau had done enough to earn a unanimous victory.

Joe Stevenson made it 2 wins in a row with a TKO victory over Spencer Fisher. Joe traded strikes with Spencer in the 1st round & landed some solid shots but it wasn't long before he was looking for the takedown, which he almost got at the end of the round, as he took Spencer's back & began to unleash his strikes. It didn't take Stevenson long to take the fight to the ground in the 2nd round & once he got the takedown, he moved into side control before trapping Spencer's arm & raining down elbows to force a referee stoppage.

Anthony Johnson added another impressive KO to his highlight reel as he stopped Yoshida in just 41 seconds of round 1. Johnson stuck to his gameplan from the beginning as he used his footwork to set-up his strikes, Yoshida tried to close the distance but Johnson shrugged him off before landing a devastating hook to put Yoshida out.

Pat Barry got a KO of the night award for his impressive 2nd round knock out of Antoni Hardonk.

Ryan Bader got a unanimous decision against a tough Eric Schafer who pushed the TUF 8 winner all the way & refused to be put away despite getting rocked in the 1st & 3rd rounds.

Chael Sonnen put on the most impressive performance of his UFC career to date with a unanimous decision victory over Yushin Okami.

Jorge Rivera defeated Rob Kimmons via TKO (strikes) in round 3.

Kyle Kingsbury defeated Razak Al-Hassan via split decision (29-28, 28-29, 29-28).

Stefan Struve defeated Gormley via submission (triangle choke) in the very first round.
