DAN HENDERSON SIGNS WITH STRIKEFORCE!!!

Former US Olympic wrestler, two-time Pride champion and perennial UFC middleweight title contender Dan Henderson's have signed a multi-fight deal that will likely see him end his career with the Strikeforce organization, after protracted contract extension negotiations with the UFC ended without agreement.

"I'm very happy to be a part of Strikeforce and their partnership with CBS and Showtime," said Henderson in a press release Monday.

It is thought that the contract negotiations broke down betwen Henderson and UFC President Dana White because of the fighter's demand for a $500k guaranteed fee per bout.

Henderson added, "I'll continue to watch their events and I hope they'll tune in to my fights in Strikeforce. After all, I'm a true fan of our fantastic sport and would love only to see MMA continue to grow."

According to online sources, Henderson's first fight under the Strikeforce banner will be in April in a CBS-televised event, possibly against middleweight champion Jake Shields.

"I'm just hoping to get out there and fight again and get paid what I would like the get paid," said Henderson to MMAFanhouse recently. "I'm not asking to be the top-paid guy at out there at all," he added.
