Mauricio "Shogun" Rua will be looking to finally return from his injury in December according to the Brazilian website Tatame.com. The last time Shogun fought was back in September against UFC Light Heavyweight champion Forrest Griffin, a fight which he lost after a disappointing performance.
While doing some physiotherapy work on his knee, Shogun spoke to TATAME about the rumors of his next fight in UFC. “I’m back to training. I’m doing some Muay Thai and Jiu-Jitsu stuff, and thanks God everything is fine now”, said the Brazilian fighter.
Speaking about his return Rua said the following: “I’ll be back in December. They (the UFC) said that I might fight with Quinton Jackson, but nothing has been signed yet. They (the UFC) called me and offered a fight with him and I accepted, but they didn’t say anything else.”
Shogun also stated that believes that Rampage's recent personal issues might be a problem for him inside the octagon. “(Jackson's recent personal troubles) surely can be a problem, but I want him back in December and against me, and I believe he can be back”.
