In the co-main event, Mirko Cro Cop defeated Pat Barry with a rear naked choke hold at 4:36 of round three.

Martin Kampmann won a unanimous decision over Paulo Thiago, with scores of 30-27 x 3.

Ben Rothwell got the unanimous nod over Gilbert Yvel, scores of 30-27 and 29-28 twice.

UFC 114 EVANS V RAMPAGE RESULTS!!!

After Months of confrontations and a war of words, Sugar Rashad Evans had the last laugh, scoring a unanimous decision victory over Quinton "Rampage" Jackson by scores of 30-27, 30-27 and 29-28.

Evans wanted to make a statement in the first round which he did successfully rocking Jackson with a right hand to gain Jackson's respect. as the fight wore on Evan's went back to his wrestling roots and took the first two rounds. Rampage was always looking to land that one BIG shot which came in the third and stunned Evans but unfortunately for him he was unable to seal the deal with time running out of the bout.

Michael "The Count" Bisping scored a unanimous decision victory in the co main event over Dan Miller. Bisping used his better stand up to keep Miller from ever setting his feet and this reflected on the judges scorecards of 30-27(twice) and 29-28.

Mike Russow came back from the brink of defeat to score a MASSIVE last round knockout of Todd Duffee in what many are claiming the best come from behind victory in the UFC's History.

UFC 110 RESULTS!!!

In the main event of UFC 110 Cain Velasquez knocked out former world heavyweight champion Antonio Rodrigo “Minotauro” Nogueira in just 2:20 with a brilliant combination. Velasquez was impressive from the start, scoring with two thunderous body punches and, after Nogueira stepped in to Velasquez closed the show with a powerful left, right, left combination.

Wanderlei “The Axe Murderer” Silva was awarded a unanimous decision victory over Michael “The Count” Bisping. Both men traded blows from the start but Silva dropped Bisping with a powerful right hand with less than ten seconds left in round three. Scores all read the same, 29-28.

George Sotiropoulos scored the upset of the night with a three round unanimous decision over former lightweight title challenger Joe “Daddy” Stevenson. All three judges scored the bout 30-27 in favor of George Sotiropoulos.

Ryan Bader scored a third round TKO over Keith Jardine at 2:10 of the third round. Bader hurt Jardine with a right cross and finished him with a strong left hook.

In an impressive performance heavyweight striker Mirko “Cro Cop” Filipovic battered Anthony Perosh en route to a third round TKO. After suffering a cut, Perosh was unable to answer the bell signaling round three.

Light heavyweights Stephan Bonnar and Krzysztof Soszynski was waived off after a clash of heads. With Bonnar’s head bleeding badly, Soszynski was awarded the TKO victory at 1:04 of the third round.

WEC 44 RESULTS!!!

Twenty three year old Jose Aldo lived up to his hype last night as he captured the WEC featherweight title when he stopped former champion Mike Brown in the second round of a scheduled five round contest.

Aldo's power was evident throughout and Brown seemed to have problems timing the Brazilian due to his hand speed as the former champion tried to close the distance and use his wrestling ability.

The second round saw the end of Brown's reign and the beginning of Aldo's, as the young fighter stunned Brown with an acuurate shot before taking him to the canvas and unloading shot after shot until the referee stepped in to stop the fight at the 1:20 mark.

The newcomer to the WEC Karen Darabedyan made his first fight a rememberable one as he upset former lightweight champion “Razor” Rob McCullough via split decision. Judges’ scorecard read 30-27, and 29-28 for the winner Karen Darabedyan. One judge scored the bout 30-27 in favor of McCullough.

Lightweight Shane Roller scored a submittion victory over Danny Castillo with a rear naked choke in the third round.

Lightweight Kamal Shalorus stopped Will Kerr in his WEC debut.

Featherweight L.C. Davis scored a solid unanimous decision victory over the favorite for the bout Diego Nunes. All three judges scored the bout 30-26.

Antonio Banuelos was awarded a three round unanimous decision over Kenji Osawa. All three judges saw the bout the same, 29-28.

RANDY COUTURE DEFEATED BRANDON VERA BY UNANIMOUS DECISION SCORES WERE 29-28 ON ALL THREE SCORECARDS

Couture was able to use his superior wrestling ability to win both the first and third rounds in a very closely contested fight. The first round saw the natural close the distance, using his clinch control against the more aggressive Vera, The second round saw Vera drop Couture with a stinging body kick but failed to finish the bout with the referee standing the two fighters up. The third round witnessed Couture looking to land something sufficient but Vera used his good defense to duck most of the shots with a smile on his face. Vera scored a take down towards the end of the round but Couture gained the advantage as the round ended to finish the bout. Vera's corner certainly thought that their fighter had done enough to earn the win but the judges thought otherwise scoring the contest to The Natural unanimously.

After the bout Vera told reporters "I thought I had won, I left it all out there"

DAN HARDY DEFEATED MICK SWICK BY UNANIMOUS DECISION SCORES WERE 30-27 ON TWO SCORECARDS WHILE THE OTHER READ 29-28. HARDY IS NOW SCHEDULED TO FACE GEORGES ST PIERRE

Dan Hardy seems to be getting better with every visit to the canvas and it showed last night as he easily had the answers to each of Swick's attacks, not only having the answers but asking his own. He staggered Swick on a number of occasions and whenever Swick connected he laughed it off and carried on attacking. Next up is a shot at Georges St Pierre which should result in an all action fight.

MICHAEL BISPING STOPPED DENIS KANG IN THE SECOND ROUND

Michael Bisping came back strongly from his knockout loss to Dan Henderson but things could have gone very sour as Kang dropped the count in the first round and spent most of it battling for position. Bisping knew he had to do something in the second round and immediately went on the attack getting the take down and letting his hands go. Both fighters rose from the canvas but now Kang looked out of gas. Bisping now sensed the end was near and used his impressive wrestling ability to take Kang to the canvas at will until the referee decided he had seen enough and saved the Canadian Kang from anymore punishment.

MATT BROWN STOPPED JAMES WILKS IN THE THIRD ROUND

James Wilks was supposed to submit Matt Brown, right? wrong, Matt Brown although spending most of the bout defending submission attempts, managed to nail Wilks time after time until the third round where he ended the contest in Wilk's guard hammering shot after shot onto a spent Wilks.

Ross Pearson made a successful debut to the UFC by stopping Aaron Riley in the second round after landing a knee to the face of Riley that left the ringside physician with no option but to stop the contest.

FEDOR STOPS ROGERS IN THE SECOND

Fedor Emelianenko underlined his dominance on the MMA world with a second round stoppage over the hard hitting American, Brett Rogers in a Strikeforce M-1 Global heavyweight bout.

Rogers sporting his usual Mohawk haircut gave Fedor some problem in the first round with the two fighters exchanging shots. Fedor landed a right left combination while Rogers landed with an accurate shot that caused a cut on the bridge of Fedor's nose.

Throughout the first round both men looked to take control with Fedor using his brilliant grappling to throw Rogers around the cage as if he was a small child. Towards the end of the first Fedor landed with a right hand that sent back the American after which he took him down to the canvas in search of a keylock submission. Rogers showed his strength reversing the position and landing in top position, now Rogers was able to let his hands go but even the hard hitting Rogers couldn't put the Russian away and it wasn't long before Fedor reversed the position in his favour. Just before the bell rang to end the first round Fedor looked to secure an arm-triangle choke but Rogers recovered as the bell sounded to end a very close round.

Fedor let his hands go in the second round which resulted in a huge left hook that found it's mark and left Rogers on the canvas while Fedor's follow up left the referee with no option but to stop the contest.

After the bout Fedor told reporters "The main thing is not to be nervous, to take some time during the first round to learn a bit about your opponent and then to look for some weakness and then to use it"

Rogers was upset with his performance saying "I hate it, I'm coming back stronger. I'm so heated I cant even put it into words, The words that i want to put it to. I doubted myself a little bit, I should have thrown my hands more, a lot more and that's the reason why I failed today"

Jake Shields out positioned Jason "Mayhem" Miller over five rounds to take the Strikeforce Middleweight title via scores of 48-47, 49-46 and 49-46.

Gerard Mousasi captured the Strikeforce Light Heavyweight title with a second round TKO victory over Rameau Thierry Sokoudjou. Both men let their hands go in an all out war but Mousasi secured top position in the second which left the referee unable to let the contest continue, which of course crowned Mousasi the new Light Heavyweight champion of the world.

Fabricio Werdum may be getting the next crack at Fedor as he scored one of his biggest wins of his career so far when he decisioned Antonio Silva by scores of 29-28, 29-28 and 29-28.

UFC 103 RESULTS!!!

Vitor Belfort returned to the UFC with a bang last night when he KO'd former Middleweight champion Rich Franklin in the very first round. The fight began with both fighters feeling each other out and trying to time each other, just over 3 minutes into the fight however Vitor clipped Franklin and dropped the American before following up with a flurry of strikes on the ground to get the win.

Junior Dos Santos proved to everyone that he is a force to be reckoned with in the heavyweight division as he earned a TKO over Mirko Cro Cop. Junior had Cro Cop hurt in the first round but was unable to finish the Croation, Mirko did well to hold on & ended up cutting Dos Santos over both eyes by the end of the round. Round 2 picked up where the first left off as Dos Santos worked angles and landed numerous strikes. In round 3 Dos Santos started to pick up the pace and landed several knees to the body from the clinch before landing a punch that caused Mirko to verbally submit due to problems with his eye sight.

Paul Daley pulled off a big upset in his UFC debut, scoring a TKO victory over Martin Kampmann. Kampmann came out looking to exchange strikes with the Brit but soon found himself looking for a takedown when he tasted Daley's power, however Paul was able to shrug off the takedown attempts and started landing some big shots that had Kampmann out on his feet, forcing the referee to step in and stop the fight in the very first round.

Josh Koscheck got back to winning ways as he put on an impressive showing to KO Frank Trigg in the first round. Both fighters came out looking to trade strikes but it was Koscheck who landed the more powerful shots as he clipped Trigg forcing him to slump against the fence where Josh then threw a few more unanswered punches before the stoppage.

Tyson Griffin showed that he can finish fights when he KO'd tough Brazilian Hermes Franca in round 2. Griffin showed some good technical striking and comfortably took the first round, in the second, Hermes came out looking to throw bombs but Tyson was able to withstand Franca's early storm before landing a big right hand to drop Hermes & then followed him to the ground to put Franca out.

Efrain Escudero scored the first KO victory of his career when he landed a huge punch to put Cole Miller out in the first round.

Jim Miller defeated Steve Lopez via TKO when Lopez dislocated his shoulder in the 2nd round.

Rafael Dos Anjos earned a unanimous decision victory over Rob Emerson after controlling the stand-up action with some vicious leg kicks and scoring some takedowns in the later rounds to seal the victory.

Rick Story was victorious over Brian Foster, securing an arm triangle choke in the 2nd round.

Tomasz Drwal forced Drew McFedries to tap out in the 2nd round via rear naked choke.

UFC 100 RESULTS!!! LESNAR AND GSP RETAIN TITLES!!!

Brock Lesnar is the best heavyweight in UFC history according to Dana White and last night he moved a step closer to greatness with a dominating performance against the only man to ever beat him in the UFC Frank Mir. The fight lasted just two rounds before Lesnar took down Mir hard and while pressed against the cage, Mir ate over one dozen unanswered punches to the head until referee Herb Dean stopped the contest at 1:48.

Dominance is the only word to describe Georges St Pierre's fight with Thiago Alves. In an absolute clinic of an MMA fight GSP used superior wrestling and relentless takedowns to easily decision Thiago Alves over five grueling rounds. Judges scored the bout 50-45 twice and 50-44.

In a fight between the two Ultimate fighter trainers Michael Bisping is waking up this morning to a very bad headache after getting knocked out by Dan Henderson. From the opening bell Henderson looked to load up his huge right hand which Bisping even circled into. In the second round though there was no more circling from Bisping as Henderson caught him with a vicious right hand that knocked the British fighter unconscious.

When asked after the fight whether Henderson knew Bisping was knocked out cold when he followed up on the floor he said "Yeah I knew he was out I just wanted to shut him up once and for all"

The main event of the evening was of course between Lyoto "The Dragon" Machida and previous champ Rashad Evans. I say Previous champ because Machida scored another awesome win puncuated with a left hook in round three that left Evans out cold for the full count. The win now give Machida a stunning record of 15 wins without loss. Can anyone figure out this man's style???

The co-main event of the evening was a grudge match between Matt Hughes and Matt Serra which saw Hughes scoring a unanimous decision. Both men had thier moments but Hughes had done enough to secure the victory. All three judges scored the bout 29-28

Drew McFedries only needed 37 seconds to TKO Xavier Foupa-Pokam in a middleweight clash. McFedries connected with a number of right hands that left Pokam on the canvas.

In the main event middleweight champion Anderson “The Spider” Silva easily defeated challenger Thales Leites over five one sided rounds via unanimous decision.

Round one was uneventful with the only action being when Silva swept Leites to the mat. Round two a better round for the challenger as Leites scored a takedown and controlled Silva from the top position. Round thee was a quite round with neither Leites nor Silva able to offer any effective attacks. Round four was one of the most bizarre in recent memory as Silva spent the larger portion of the round dancing and taunting his opponent. The final round saw Silva being able to avoid any damage taking scores from the Judges’ of 49-46, 48-47 and 50-46

In what could turn out to be Chuck Liddell's last stand former Pride standout Mauricio “Shogun” Rua knocked “The Iceman” Chuck Liddell out with a left hook that left the former light heavyweight king stiffened on the canvas while Rua showing no mercy finished the fight with strikes on the ground.

UFC president Dana White told the post-fight press conference that he cares about Chuck explaining: "I care about his health, and it's over, man. It's over."

"I don't want him to fight anymore. He fuckin' doesn't have anything to prove. Nothing to prove. He doesn't have to prove anything to me or the rest of world. He has fuckin' loads of money. There's no reason for it. ... I don't care how much he draws. I don't want to see him get hurt."

Liddell did not contradict him on the retirement talk. "Yeah, that's probably the case. I'm not going to make any decisions until I go home to talk to everybody, talk to my people and my friends. ... But it's probably safe to say."

In a five round war WEC bantamweight champion Miguel Angel Torres came through a hell of a fight to record a unanimous decision over the hardened Takeya Mizugaki

Both fighters landed hard accurate blows throughout the opening round. The second round saw Torres take control of the centre of the cage and was able to dictate the pace while scoring the more significant blows. Round three was a toe-to-toe battle in which both fighters decided to open up and challenge the other. The challenger Mizugaki opened a large gash over the right eye of the champion with a hard left hook. The cut to the champion seemed to awaken something and Torres took over the fight in the fourth round as he stalked Mizugaki around the cage. The champion slowed the fight down in the fifth round opting to clinch and score on the inside. Judges’ scorecards read 49-46 twice and 48-47 all in favor of Miguel Angel Torres.

Joseph Benavidez scored the biggest win of his career last night as he defeated former title challenger Jeff Curran via unanimous decision. Judges’ scorecards read 30-27 twice and 29-28.

The O2 arena in London was rocking last night as Diego “Nightmare” Sanchez won a hard-fought unanimous decision over Joe “Daddy” Stevenson in a lightweight battle.

Fighting for the first time at 155 pounds, Sanchez entered on a two fight win streak, and capitalized on a strong first round to make it three with a nod via 29-28, 29-28 and 30-27 scores.

Dan “The Outlaw” Hardy pleased the home crowd with a knockout victory over Rory Markham at 1:02 of the first round.

Middleweight Nate “The Great” Marquardt beat Wilson Gouveia by TKO at 3:10 of the final stanza.

GSP DOMINATES PENN IN A CLASSIC!!!

In what many thought would be a highly competitive match up turned out to be a one sided affair with UFC world welterweight champion Georges St. Pierre easily doing what many have failed to do by stopping lightweight champion BJ Penn in four rounds. Round one started with the bigger St. Pierre holding Penn against the cage while landing short punches. Round two saw St. Pierre takeover the fight completely as he landed heavy strikes from the top position. The beating from the much larger and much stronger St. Pierre continued until the corner of Penn decided they had seen enough. The fight was waved off before the start of round five giving Georges St. Pierre the TKO victory.

Lyoto “The Dragon” Machida needed just one round to finish fellow unbeaten Thiago Silva, Machida threw Silva to the ground and landed a heavy right hand just before the buzzer which left Silva laying still on the canvas unable to continue.

Jon “Bones” Jones scored a big unanimous decision over veteran Stephan Bonnar, Scores read 29-28 twice and 30-27.

Karo “The Heat” Parysian scored a three round, split decision over Dong Hyun Kim in a welterweight contest. Scores all read 29-28.

Lightweight Clay Guida ended TUF 5 winner Nate Diaz’s UFC win streak by earning a hard three round split decision. Scores all read 29-28.

Former welterweight title challenger Jon Fitch out worked Akihiro Gono en route to earning a dominant unanimous decision victory Scores read 30-27 twice and 30-26.

Lightweight Thiago Tavares earned a unanimous decision over Manny Gamburyan. All three judges scored the bout 29-28.

John Howard scored an early upset as he earned a split decision over Chris Wilson. Scores all read 29-28.

EMELIANENKO TAMES THE PITBULL!!!

Fedor Emelianenko beat another former UFC heavyweight champion knocked out Andrei Arlovski on Saturday at Affliction and M-1 Global’s “Day of Reckoning” in Anaheim, Calif.
Arlovski started the better beating Emelianenko to the punch and also landing leg kicks. In fact Arlovski may have been ahead on the scorecards when "The Pitbull" tried a flying knee, that Emelianenko countered with a right hand that stopped Arlovski in midair and left him lying face-first on the canvas. The official time was 3:14.

Josh Barnett dominated Gilbert Yvel on the ground to win their heavyweight bout. Barnett took down Yvel and moved into the mount in all three rounds.

“End of the first and the takedown in the third and the finishing ground-and-pound were about the only good things I did in the fight,” said Barnett, now 24-5, who was unhappy with his performance. “I’m sorry about it, you guys. … I gotta step it up next time.”

Vitor Belfort scored a brilliant knock out victory over Matt Lindland in 37 seconds. Belfort floored Lindland with a left hand to his chin and finished him with follow-up strikes on the ground. “I came to compete and to take over this weight division, I’m too fast, I think. … The speed and the accuracy, I kind of find the spot right away. Matt is a predictable fighter. I caught him and I just kept going. Speed is the key. You can’t beat speed.”

Renato "Babalu" Sobral used an anaconda choke to submit Rameau Thierry Sokoudjou 2:36 into the second round of their light heavyweight bout.

Paul Buentello stopped Kirill Sidelnikov A ringside doctor called the fight at 4:18 of the third.

Dan Lauzon submitted Bobby Green with a rear-naked choke at 4:55.

HENDERSON SCRAPS PAST FRANKLIN AT UFC 93!!!

Former Pride FC welterweight and middleweight champion Dan Henderson scored a three round split decision over former UFC middleweight champion Rich Franklin.

Round one saw the former Olympic wrestler Henderson win the opening round by taking his opponent down and controlling him from the top position. The second round saw Franklin push the pace on the feet and use a long southpaw jab to keep Henderson at bay. The final round was a slugfest in which came to a screeching halt when Franklin was accidentally poked in the eye. Judges scorecards read 30-27 in favor of Franklin and 29-28 twice in favor of the winner Dan Henderson.

In the UFC 93’s co feature, Mauricio “Shogun” Rua earned his first UFC victory stopping Mark “The Hammer” Coleman in the final round with a hard four punch combination

Rousimar Palhares soundly defeated Jeremy Horn over three round to earn a unanimous decision

Alan “The Talent” Belcher scored a wild upset submitting Denis Kang with a tight guillotine choke in the second round at 4:36.

GRIFFIN, MIR AND RAMPAGE POST VICTORIES AT UFC 92!!!

Rashad Evans stopped Forrest Griffin in the third round to become world light heavyweight champion in the main event of UFC 92: The Ultimate 2008.

The fight started with Griffin controlling the action with his jab while mixing up his attacks with sharp body kicks.

The second round saw Griffin maintain his pace but begin to tire while Evans remained fresh.

In round three Evans caught a lazy kick and cracked Griffin with a crisp right hand. With Griffin on his back, Evans began to tee off prompting the stoppage at 2:46.

"The ground-and-pound was effective," Evans said. "I was on him and his guard was loose. He was letting me hit him, and I was saying to myself, 'Dang, he's hurt.' I thought I rocked him, but Forrest was tough."

Griffin told reporters after the fight, that he thought the stoppage was a correct one and said

"I didn't know what was going on at that point, I think I was hurt when I went down, but I honestly don't remember much after that."

Frank Mir became the first man to ever stop interim UFC heavyweight champion Antonio Rodrigo “Minotauro” Nogueira.

Mir showed fantastic boxing throughout the first round by dropping his opponent twice with hard southpaw lefts.

In the second round, Mir landed a powerful left hook that flattened Nogueira. Mir followed up with hard shots on the ground and finished the fight at 1:54.

Mir stated his intention to take the belt outright saying "Lesnar has the belt, I don't want to be a half-champion."

After the fight Rampage told reporters "Whooo, I've been waiting a long time for this. Rampage is back, This guy destroyed me twice. I knew I could beat him."

GRAPPLE AND STRIKE HEAVYWEIGHT FIGHT REPORT!!!

LIAM RONAN VS CHRIS KONIECZNY

In the main event of the night Iron Warrior fighter and local heavyweight sensation Liam Ronan went head to head with Chris Konieczny.

Before the fight Ronan's MMA trainer Jamie Weaver told reporters:

“This will be a very exciting and challenging fight,” said Weaver. It is a rematch of a fight from the beginning of the year, which was Liam’s first semi-pro fight and his first victory"

“Each fighter has something to prove and both are training extremely hard.”

It looked from the packed sports hall in Nantyglo that Liam had brought the whole of Merthyr to support him which shows the type of support he generates.

The fight lived up to the hype and was all action from the start with both fighters looking to make an impact and put the first round in the bag but while the taller Liam Ronan looked to score with a big right hand Konieczny ducked the shot and immediately went for the takedown. Liam composed himself well on the mat and looked for the reversal from the guard of Konieczny which he eaily obtained.

In the later part of the round while trying to stand up Liam got caught in a leg lock that had him grimacing in pain but was able to hang on until the end of the round.

Round two started again with Liam looking to trade but Konieczny must have done his homework on the bigger hitting Ronan and again tried to secure a takedown. Liam moved well on the mat and easily overpowered Konieczny and got inside his guard while firing good effective shots to the body. Both men looked tired coming to the end of the round but the result was never in doubt and was a unanimous one with a score of 20-18 all in favour of the Iron Warriors fighter Liam Ronan and crowned a new Grapple and Strike Heavyweight champion.
