Former Pride FC welterweight and middleweight champion Dan Henderson scored a three round split decision over former UFC middleweight champion Rich Franklin.
Round one saw the former Olympic wrestler Henderson win the opening round by taking his opponent down and controlling him from the top position. The second round saw Franklin push the pace on the feet and use a long southpaw jab to keep Henderson at bay. The final round was a slugfest in which came to a screeching halt when Franklin was accidentally poked in the eye. Judges scorecards read 30-27 in favor of Franklin and 29-28 twice in favor of the winner Dan Henderson.
