Welterweight fighter Karo Parisyan tested positive for banned painkillers hydrocodone, hydromorphone and oxymorphone following his UFC 94 win over Dong Hyun Kim, the Nevada State Athletic Commission announced Tuesday. A formal complaint will be filed with the commission, to be followed by a hearing, Keith Kizer, director of the commission, said in an e-mail.
The past year has been rough for Parisyan, who has been beset by back injuries and panic attacks. His victory 10 days ago over Kim, a tough judoka, seemed to mark a turnaround. Now it's just another setback.
