In perhaps the most high profile mixed promotion of boxing and MMA, it was recently announced that Roy Jones Jr. will fight in a boxing match on March 21 in Pensacola, Fla., with three mixed martial arts bouts on the undercard.The three MMA bouts will be headlined by a light heavyweight contest pitting Seth Petruzelli against former WEC champion Doug Marshall. The other two MMA fights include Roy Nelson versus Jeff Monson in a heavyweight bout, and former WWE superstar Bobby Lashley against an unnamed opponent.
Tagged "March Badness," the event features Roy Jones Jr. facing Omar Sheika in a light heavyweight boxing match, plus the IBF No. 2 ranked cruiserweight B.J. Flores.
Promoted by Square Ring Promotions, Inc., the event will take place at the Pensacola Civic Center and be broadcast live on pay-per-view. There will be a press conference on Feb. 11 to officially announce "March Badness."
