Michael Bisping believes the outcome of a fight between himself and Demian Maia would be simple: The Brazilian would get knocked out.
Maia called Bisping out after beating Nate Quarry several months ago, although the Brazilian later admitted he acted out of desperation due to his determination to coach on TUF 9.
Regardless, as two of the top middleweights in The UFC Bisping and Maia’s worlds are almost sure to collide at some point in the future, maybe in a title fight.
Bisping’s record against Jiu-Jitsu guys is top draw, and he is adamant that Maia would have no plan B once he realized he could not take the Briton down.
“Demian has a great ground game, if not one of the best in the world,” Bisping told Setanta Sports. I think the thing is he would need to take me down to the ground…and I don’t think he could. I would knock him out.
“I do think he’s a huge test and I have ultimate respect for the guy, but I think he’s a bit of a one-trick pony. If he can’t get me to the ground, he’s stuffed.”
