Fighter Profile: Alexandre Ribeiro

Alexandre "Xande" Ribeiro is a professional Jiu-Jitsu competitor, mixed martial artist and submission wrestler.He is the current Absolute (open weight) World Jiu-Jitsu Champion and is widely considered to be one of the world's top grapplers. He was the first person in the world to submit the American fighter Jeff Monson. He is currently a competitor in Japan's Sengoku Mixed Martial Arts promotion and trains for his fights at The Arena (www.thearenamma.com), a professional MMA training gym in San Diego. Xande's teammates include Diego Sanchez, Rani Yahya and Joe Duarte

Alexandre is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu machine that often leaves his opponents on the matt wondering what had just happened while in turn his arm is raised.

His already impressive record shows the skills this man can bring to the table and with two knockouts to his name already in MMA he is by no means a one trick pony. Think of Damian Maia with punching power and you won’t be far from where this man lies in terms of MMA skills.

Look for Alexandre to make waves when he enters Mixed Martial Arts on a more permanent basis in 2009 / 2010.
