KIMBO SIGNS WITH THE UFC!!!

Kimbo Slice is one of the 16 heavyweights that will take part in the next season of The Ultimate Fighter, UFC president Dana White has confirmed.

White, who has repeatedly derided Slice's mixed martial arts abilities, made the announcement to Yahoo! Sports.

In the past he has called Slice - real name Kevin Ferguson - "a bum" and "a joke". Yesterday he acknowledged that Slice's participation in TUF10:Heavyweights "should be interesting, given some of the things I’ve said about him".

Slice (3-1) made his name appearing in bare-knuckle streetfights that were distributed widely on YouTube and other video-sharing media.

His notoriety translated into good viewing figures for EliteXC before that company went under. However, Slice was also partly to blame for its demise as he lost by KO very early in his last fight to journeyman Seth Petruzelli.

Slice recently split from his MMA trainer Bas Rutten and was quoted recently as saying he was moving into professional boxing. The TUF 10 announcement means that will not be happening just yet, but Slice has not said who will be training him now.

TUF 10 will feature an all-heavyweight cast and will commence with 16 fighters from the off, as opposed to the 32-fighter elimination round that recent seasons have started with.
